CHOW KING in Fort Payne

The hype this place gets made me go for a visit.however I wasn't impressed.this isn't only Chinese food it's several random foods.that aren't labeled with enough description to define clearly what they are.the sushi was okay .it's the only thing I did like .service is ok but there was a seeming language barrier. two visits here & well ok is the best I can say.I don't want to trash the place.it's just not my kind of place really.if you remember Ryan's it's kinda sorta like that.try it for yourself form your own opinion.

One of the better Chinese buffets in the area. Plenty of food options which seem to be fairly fresh. My only wish Is that they had hibachi grill like some of the other establishments.

Food is usually great. Sometimes needs refilling sooner than it's done. Waitresses are horrible. They stand over you and rush you out. My husband and I paid with a large bill at our last visit so we wanted to pay at the counter. The waitresses argued with us about doing so. She followed us to the front counter while asking for her tip. I was shocked because the service is usually ok.

I have eaten at Chinese buffets across the U.S. (truck driver who loves Chinese food). This is one of the best. Fresh. Tasty. Attentive staff. Appears to have loyal local customer base. Only complaint is too many crimson tide fans here.

This is the best place to go eat Chinese food I love the General tso chicken and The coconut chicken is out of this world

Great buffet we stopped at while traveling. Ice cream, mac and cheese, pizza and chicken nuggets for the picky ones. I enjoyed the baked and grilled salmon. The sushi was lacking but you shouldn't go to a buffet for sushi exclusively. I enjoyed the meal and the fruit I had for dessert was freah.

Good place to eat lunch. Evening meals is higher prices. They do have some very good fresh fruits that are the best for a restaurant around here. The tea is very good. Nice dessert options also.

I have not had good food from anywhere buffet style in a long while. We drove all the way from Boaz to eat at this location and it was worth the drive out. The lunch prices were excellent and the food was hot and fresh. As well as filling. The best part the taste was amazing 😍 not bland as the one in Albertville was. Recommend the honey chicken 😉 and my hubs recommends the zucchini sushi. Even when the food ran low they had it filled right back up. The staff was friendly and on top of clearing the empty plates from the table and refilling the drinks. We will be back for another round soon 😁. The seating is cramped but with how busy they were it's understandable. By far exceeded expectations.

Whether it's food to go, just a plate for here or the buffet, I have yet to find a flaw with the food, the service or the cleanliness. Also, the prices will probably be slightly less than you expect. .. Probably the best non-upscale seafood buffet I've ever frequented. .. The best.

Extremely clean buffet! Great variety and all foods were at properly heated temperatures. A great variety of seafood, chicken, beef, and pork. However the roast beef (or pot roast) lacked seasoning. The hot and sour soup is loaded with tofu, mushrooms, and sea veggies, and perfectly seasoned. The staff is attentive but not imposing!

This chow king at Fort Payne has a bad employee.The few times my family and I went to eat there we left a tip and she got mad and said “little money a lot of work, more money” she’s an older lady, we only went during the weekends and the few times we’ve gone she’s been there, the second time we went she chased us down all the way to the cashier and was screaming for a bigger tip and told us not to return, we went today hoping it would be different, but it wasn’t she still told us the same thing. I’ve seen a couple of reviews about a waitress that demands people to pay before hand and asks for tips and rushes them, I’m pretty sure it’s the same lady, extremely unprofessional demanding more tips, .It hasn’t only happened to us, it has happened to other people around us.

Clean building and bathroom. Great selection. Great price. Hot food was hot and cold food was cold. Service was good. Sweet tea is southern sweet. If you dont like yours super sweet, get 1/2 unsweet and 1/2 sweet. Great selection of sushi and they are all good.

Chow King is a good buffet with a sushi bar. While the food is good, it's not great. But a clean and attractive restaurant. They do have a fairly good selection of dishes and desserts from fruit to apple pie. A really good place to eat.

Good food for a great price. My favorites are the sushi, tofu soup and pork dumplings. Very good selection of items offered. Also has a salad bar, fruit, ice cream and sherbet. If going for lunch, I would recommend getting there before 1:30 pm to make sure all entrees are nice and hot. Service has always been excellent.

Food was hot. Wait was long. The servers took our plates without asking- one time even when we were still using it!

Wonderful and sweet waitress, but really mediocre food. The macaroni and cheese was sweet (?!) and food was not flavorful. The owners were not welcoming at all, neither did they ask if we enjoyed our food when we payed for our meal. We will not be returning.

Food is Good! Plenty of parking and seats. Clean atmosphere.

Excellent value for the price. This isn't an average Chinese buffet, this is a lot of decent quality food and a good atmosphere. Delicious, even and especially the sushi.

Today I ate in this restaurant close to 4:00 pm, I may have to say that this Chinese buffet is okay food wise all the other buffet places I’ve been to out of all the years I’ve been living in South Texas. Some friends from Fort Payne whom we knew over the years recommended that we should come here after we look around the city of Scottsboro and a shop entitled Baggage Unclaimed. We thought at first that they’ll charge double the price of the buffet since we arrive there after 3:30 but I guess we had the information all wrong maybe this time. They had green beans which had garlic on the top just like the Chinese would do it. Overall it was appetizing

I love the food here! I usually get the same thing when I go. The food is usually very hot and tasty. They have a good verity of food. The ice cream is always delicious, along w the snacks.

Unclean and the Spanish speaking waitresses speak down to each other about Americans. I speak Spanish and heard the waitresses saying that Americans are lazy!

If could go zero I would went in a hour before closing not even enough food for one plate full. Never put anything else out was still asked to pay full price. She claimed that they'll come to you're table and ask if you would like something cooked that never happened. Literally not 2 plate full of food if you emptied what little was left and said o I give you discount still 19.85 I'll never set foot in that place again

Chow Chen is the greatest worksman i've ever seen in the game of buffet and dine - out . Wonderful spectacular food and crafts.

All the food that my wife and I had was hot and delicious...Service was good and they were constantly cleaning floors and tables...plenty to choose from on the buffet..we can .reccommend this place

If you haven't been here to Chow King Buffet & Grill in Fort Payne, Alabama you are missing out on some delicious Chinese food. I highly recommend that if you're hungry...... the next time you're in the Fort Payne area you stop by and get your belly full. Enjoy! Cuz I sure did😁

Really good food but didn't want to make sushi and set it out when it is included on the bar. Today I had to beg them to put more out and when they finally did, it was just ONE roll while the rest of the sushi bar was empty and customers stood there waiting

The wonton soup did not taste good. The egg rolls were too soft and chewy.They picked up all the salt and pepper shakers while we were eating. The bathrooms were nasty, garbage over flowing in all stalls, toliets looks like they haven't been cleared in a long time. The music that was playing, had cussing in it. Would not recommend this place.

Awesome Chinese Buffet not your typical at all. Very good first impression as you walk in the door smells good and everything is spotless Floor is cleaned the tables clean the food was phenomenal everything at a great price for good quality food

Their rice is amazing, okra is always cooked perfect, seafood is amazing. If they run out, they have no problem preparing you fresh food. The staff is sooo sweet. Tea is the best. They make sure your took care of. It's great here and our favorite place.

Very tasty food, tons of options, well staffed, and super affordable. The buffet contained something for everyone - expected Chinese buffet items, sushi, salad bar, fruits and veggies, and plenty of "American" favorites too. Even the ice cream was excellent (hand scooped self-serve).

Consistently good Chinese Food buffet with sushi bar. No menu. Best in the area. Clean restaurant except for the bathrooms. Really nice people except for one grumpy old guy. General Tsao, we call him.

Definitely one of the best Chinese buffets you can get, period.Can't think of another comparable place in driving distance, except maybe China Buffet in Kimball TN. But Chow King is definitely prime. You will not be disappointed.Rating 5 stars not as like "perfect food" but as perfect Chinese buffet food. I can't imagine it being better.

Bring your stretchy pants, your belts with extra holes available...maybe skip a meal before hand...this place is deliciously amazing.

Incredibly average and westernized. This is the fast food version of a Chinese restaurant. On the plus side, none of us got sick!

We traveled over an hour to get there for a Birthday gathering. The food was good but not exceptional. Some items needed to be cooked longer to make them more tender (Ribs) and some of the items needed more seasoning. The General Tso chicken was very mushy and totally different than I have ever had. Service was fair.

Seafood delicious - meat not so much... Great price!
